Lidia Szczepanowski, Esq., is known as the “no-nonsense” and “approachable” lawyer. She has over 20 years experience in handling a wide range of cases, from inception up through trial, in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation, real estate, bankruptcy, negligence and appellate law, just to name a few.
Lidia attended Hofstra University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Business in 1987. Thereafter she attended St. John’s University School of Law. During law school, Lidia interned with Judge Arthur D. Spatt in the Appellate Division for the State of New York, Second Department and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She also received an Honorable Mention in the Charles M. Sparacio Mock Criminal Trial Competition and was a published member of the Admiralty Society. Lidia received her Juris Doctorate in June 1990.
Soon after graduating, Lidia became a partner in a successful general practice law firm in Smithtown, New York where she provided legal counsel predominately in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation. Lidia currently maintains an “of counsel” relationship with Kushnick & Pallaci, P.C. and has appeared on numerous television and radio shows as a legal correspondent.
Lidia is also the producer and host of the “Everything Lidia Radio Show” which is heard live every Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm on Long Island’s WGBB 1240 AM or on the internet at www.am1240wgbb.com. She delivers her positive message with passion, humor and intelligence and her show offers useful information about a wide range of topics from “politics to pocketbooks”. The show provides actionable insights that are simple yet entertaining.
Lidia was also nominated as the “Best Lawyer” in the Long Island Press “Best of Long Island • 2011” competition.

Professional Associations and Memberships:
Lidia has been involved with the Suffolk and Nassau County Bar Associations and has sat on the Civil Litigation, Employment Law and Construction Law Committees. Lidia is also a Board member of The Strand on Ocean Drive Condominium Association, Inc. in Miami Beach, Florida and is the condo-hotel’s Vice President. She is also the liaison between the home owner’s association and the Congress Hotel operation.
Philanthropy is important to Lidia. In November 2007, Lidia founded the National Organization for Women’s Safety Awareness, Inc., (the NOWSA) a 501(c)(3) non-profit which was established to fulfill a fundamental need in our country to provide more information, awareness, and knowledge about women’s personal safety issues. www.TheNOWSA.org.
Lidia has also volunteered her time speaking to women about safety awareness at numerous community organizations such as the Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect, the Girl Scouts, the Long Island Women’s Agenda, the Women’s Financial Network and others. She has been active with Project Safe Neighborhood through the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, New York State’s Operation Safe Child, and was invited to be a Conference Mentor at the Guardian Girls Going Places Entrepreneurship Conference in March 2009.
In April 2008, Lidia received the prestigious “Prevention Through Education Award” from Child Abuse Prevention Services and in October 2008, she was honored for her ongoing commitment to improving the lives of women at “About Face 2008: Making Changes,” an annual Long Island benefit for survivors of domestic violence. In June 2009 Lidia was presented with the “Making a Difference for Women” Award by Soroptimist International of Nassau County and in February 2010, Lidia was presented with a Proclamation before the New York State Assembly for her commitment as an outspoken advocate for women’s safety awareness and for her work in establishing “Teen Personal Safety Awareness Week” in New York.
In February 2004, Lidia earned her black belt in karate and she is currently studying the reality based hand-to-hand combat Russian martial art of Systema. In June 2006, she was crowned Mrs. New York America and she also received the Mrs. Community Service Award. While representing New York State in the Mrs. America Pageant, Lidia was selected as a Top 12 Finalist. Thereafter, in January, 2009, Lidia was selected as Mrs. New York International and she competed in the Mrs. International Pageant in July 2009.

Lidia currently resides on Long Island in Dix Hills with her husband, and their three children. During her free time, Lidia enjoys motorcycle and dirt bike riding with her family, fitness training, playing tennis, skiing, windsurfing, and boating.
